Bio

Lydia Woolever is a senior editor at Baltimore magazine and a freelance journalist based in Maryland.

A daughter of the Eastern Shore, she specializes in the Chesapeake Bay region through stories on its people, history, and sense of place, with an emphasis on the regional foodway.

Her writing has appeared in Esquire, Popular Mechanics, The Philadelphia Inquirer, and Edible, and has both been nominated for and won several national awards, including the City Regional Magazine Association Awards (CRMAs) and the FOLIO Eddie & Ozzie Awards, where she was named 2019’s Editor of the Year.
